In case you hadn’t noticed, it seems to me that the whole yarny world is crazy about socks.
In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how much I ardently admire and love you. – Mr Darcy from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice
Well, that is the case for me with socks it seems! I tried to resist, but…
This is a pattern from my new book which I talked about here. I have it in a magazine as well and I’ve attempted it quite a few times but failed. But I am determined that this time it will go right! I’m using Stylecraft Special DK in Silver which I know is not sock yarn but I didn’t want to go full out for something that very possibly won’t work, in spite of my determination.
Have a good week!

Oh I love those and would love to try them. I have no desire to knit socks, but crochet…yeah…I could get behind that!!

Which book is this from?

I know – knitting socks seems too much of a handful! The book is called “Crochet” and it’s published by Dorling Kindersley

No problem! I don’t know if it’s available in the USA. If not I could probably scan and send you the pattern if you like.

Looks like you’re doing great with it! I haven’t tried to make any clothing (hats and scarves don’t count as clothing right?) if I do ever try I want to try thigh high socks.

I’ve seen a great free pattern on Ravelry for rippled thigh high socks that look really cool x
