Hello, I’m Eleanor! Welcome to my blog! This is the space where I will be sharing my crochet projects with the world. Grab a mug of something warm, pull up a chair and get cosy for a chat!
I’m a student living in the UK who loves playing the violin and piano, as well as reading, listening to music, learning all about linguistics and visiting National Trust houses. I also love doing logic and word puzzles. I’m very independent and am happy with long periods of time in my own company. My favourite season is Spring and if I could go anywhere right now it would be British Columbia, Canada.
When did you start crocheting?
Hmmm… Well, probably when I was about 10 after seeing my mum making some cardigans for me. I also got given a kit once for my birthday. But I gave it up eventually. In 2012, I met a friend who had made a plarn (plastic-bag yarn) bag and I was inspired. I started to learn again in earnest and haven’t stopped since.
Why did you start Harebells Crochet?
My main reasons were to be able to share with the world what I’m making and to indulge in the enjoyable task of writing for pleasure, which I have always loved doing, although I don’t have as much time for it as I used to, sadly.
Since I started crocheting, I wanted to have a blog someday but I didn’t know when the right time would be. One day, I just sat down and thought, ‘Right, I’m just going to go for it’ and so I did!
What are your plans for your blog in the future?
I’d like to release some crochet patterns of my own at some point – that’s another ambition I’ve had since I started crocheting. I’ve got several ideas but just haven’t had time to make them, write them up and take photos. Hopefully sometime soon I’ll be able to do it.
**This ‘About Me’ page is a WIP so if there is anything you’d like me to add to it, just let me know in the comments.**
